Silk White Pt 2

When it comes to writer's block, Silk doesn't believe in it. What he does is write through it. When he does this, ideas start coming to him. The key in getting pass writer's block, is to keep writing and writing, don't stop. When giving advice to upcoming authors is to never give up and take your craft seriously. Don't come into this game looking to make quick, easy money and treating it like a side hustle and you will be all right. The authors he would love to collaborate is K'wan or either Jaquavis Coleman because they are very good writers. Stay tuned for part 3.

Who is the man behind Silk White?

Silk White was born and raised in New York. After reading Kwan's book called "Street Dreams", he knew than of what he wanted to do. He's been writing ever since. He tried to get published the traditional way, but doors kept being shut in his face, one after the other. This force him to do self publishing. He did well for himself. After his success, the majors started coming and knocking on his door. He loves what he does. He loves creating and giving readers good stories. Who is Rosalind M Young?

Today, we're getting to know a young lady by the name of Rosalind M. (Hollins) Young, but her pen name is RM Hollins. She's from the French Camp, CA which is Stockton, CA. She started writing at young age when she was having feelings of self-hatred. So, what she did was write all of her feelings down on paper. 2 years later, she self-published. After leaving a review for Jerrice Owens on Amazon, he messaged her on Facebook where he kept encouraging her to write a book. After a year gone by, Surviving Thug Passion was released after Jerrice gave her that extra push.  When it's writer's block, she states that life has a way in interrupting your creative process,

Her advice to upcoming authors is to be true to your craft and yourself. To put as much of yourself as possible  into your work. The readers can and will feel the message you're trying to present.

When asked what's coming in the near future, she honestly doesn't know, because she hasn't successfully in getting new readers to give her a work a chance. She has four stories that she's sitting on that she's afraid to put out, but she has great people behind her that gives her that extra push. Gotta step out on faith. And they are Jerrice Owens and Marie Norfleet.

Her favorite authors are Donald Goines, Maya Angelou, Toni Morrison, and besides them, and good story is worth reading. When she's bored out of her mind, she sits on her bed.

Getting to know this man of God Marcellus C. Miller

When he first started writing, Mrs. Butzu was his first mentor. As his family encouraged him to follow his dreams, he felt his way through, learning and researching the area he wanted to write in. Among his teacher and family, he also learned from his brother-in-law and author, Emmanuel Johnson, Sr. and his very own Pastor, Pastor/Author Dr. Lonnie W. Brown.

 Langston Hughes and Robert Frost was one of his favorite authors as he grew up. When getting his mojo going, there's nothing like a late inspiration that won't allow you to sleep until you put your thoughts down on paper.

Marcellus's advice to upcoming authors

Marcellus's advice to upcoming authors is that anyone can put out a CD, but how many people can say they have published a book? Chase your dream not the competition. Research and he repeats research an area where there is a hole in the market for your work. There are tons of choices out there, but give the people a reason to read yours.

In the near future, Marcellus would be moving away from poetry books, but will continue to write poetry. At the moment he is currently working on two other books. The first one is called "The truth about Recruiting" which entails all about the realities of trying to play college athletics and the true story of what recruiters mean based on what they say. The second book is titled "Coaching Multiple Personalities" which entails about being able to create teams from vastly different personalities in both business and sports.

Getting to know who Marcellus Miller is...

When asked about writer's block, he says it could happen, but for him, he believes that he have to be in tune with inspiration in any form, anywhere, and at any time. When he's happy, in tears, angry, any other emotions, rather he's at home, church, class, and even at work, he writes what's in his heart. As for him, he doesn't have a personal block. His creative juices keeps flowing no matter where's he's at.

What made Marcellus chose self-publishing? Well, he went the way of Vanity Publishing. The price point allowed him to Print on Demand versus the volume number of books. The editing process was extensive and they put out good products. Most importantly, all his files are copyrighted with his name on it and they're exclusively his. Who is Marcellus CalledandChosen Miller? You may asked. Born and raised in Flint, MI. Marcellus Charles Miller was brought into this world. As he was grew older, he begin to write at a young age. While he was in middle school, his teacher, Ms. Mary Lou Roth placed in the position of columnist and editor of their school newspaper The Longfellow Challenger.

It was his sophomore year in high school where he begin to write poetry. His teacher, Mrs. Ava Butzu challenged him and his classmates to participate in "Poet-Tee" project.
